Manuka honey benefits are pretty well known. It is loaded with up to 4 times the vitamins and minerals of other honey.  These are believed to provide some healing properties and other manuka health benefits.  Because of these properties, many uses for Manuka have been found. But what about some of the lesser-known or more unconventional uses? We’re going to take a look at some ways you can benefit from this wonderful natural resource that you may not have thought of.

Ice Cream Flavour

Manuka Honey as food is well known, but have you tried Manuka flavoured ice cream? It’s become increasingly popular as an ice cream flavour and its unique properties and flavour profile make it perfect as a delicious dessert. If you aren’t able to get your hands on some, simply get yourself some vanilla ice cream, some real manuka honey from New Zealand and drizzle it over the top. It’s incredibly tasty and dangerously addictive!

Acne Treatment

Acne. We’ve all had to deal with it at some point or another and for many, it’s an ongoing battle. Manuka is believed to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which have led to some people using it in their treatment against acne. While more research is required for a definitive answer, one study on Kanuka Honey (which contains similar properties to Manuka Honey but in lower quantities) found it was as effective against acne as antibacterial soap!

Preventing Gastric Ulcers

Stomach ulcers are very common and can be caused by a range of things. They are painful and can cause further issues if not treated effectively. H. pylori is a type of bacteria that is commonly the cause of gastric ulcers and research has suggested that manuka honey can be effective in preventing and treating ulcers caused by this bacteria as well as ulcers caused by excessive alcohol consumption. Various studies have been done and while the results have been mixed, anecdotal evidence is strong. It can’t hurt to have a spoonful of PURITI Pure NZ Manuka Honey every day to keep your gut happy and healthy!
